[ANC] Anti-Bot Awareness Campaign Part II

As part of the Anti-Bot Awareness Campaign of Audition Seitoukai, we tried to compile the hack programs available in Audition Philippines as of late and identify them.

-TPP-

+ PERFECT HACK

This is the first of its kind that appeared in Audition Philippines History. A botter would have the program running in the background while Audition is being run. This program is applicable when once in game, a player would press F9. The beat would then stop, leaving out the frustration of having to find the right timing in pressing the space bar to inline the bead with the perfect mark in the bar. The user would then just have to press the arrows and the space bar and voila, instant chain! Though there’s this downside that users tends to get disconnected when they play out of sync. Remember that not all perfect hack users tend to lag, because there are those who knows how to key in the steps with the proper speed and timing to avoid suspicion.

HOW TO DETECT

• If a certain player executes a perfect chain until the end of the game, then he is a perfect hack user. Though this wacko could miss, the only alternative mark that he can hit is perfect; therefore, excluding great, bad or cool actions. Another thing to observe is the score board tally at the end of the game, compare the number of moves the wacko did to those of the normal players. Normally, bot users tend to have a larger total of moves.

+ ON – OFF BOT

Like the Perfect hack, the on – off bot user would just press the F9 button that would cause for the time of the song to stop, along with the timing bead at the perfect mark. The user would still have to press the proper arrows and the space bar or ctrl key to execute a move. Pressing the F11 button would turn off the TPP, which then would initiate the movement of the bead and the song resumes with the proper time in line with the normal players.

HOW TO DETECT

• Because the bead would stop at the perfect mark, the bot user would then have to be wary of the timing in which he presses the space bar to avoid suspicion. Try choosing songs that are off beat or those at the extremes of the tempo, a supposed on – off bot user might make a transient lag with a perfect move.
• The lag caused by an on – off bot program can be observed that when the bot user turns off the program, the lag vanishes. Unlike normal lag that can be seen throughout the game. Also observe that an on – off bot user brings about pauses only while chaining, but plays smoothly when he doesn’t chain.
• On – off bot users hardly enables the chance mode. The chance feature slows down the user’s capability to input all the arrows in the shortest amount of time; therefore, making it more difficult to time the beat intervals to ebb suspicion.

+ BEAT RUSH HACK

The newest game mode addition provided by S2 has been seen as a potential subject for a new bamboozle. It works just like a normal on – off bot albeit for this matter, the user would just have to press F9 to make the rhythm bead stop from circulating, allowing the player to key in the arrows. The user would then have to press F11 to deactivate the program to set off the rhythm bead to move. Since all the arrows have already been keyed-in before the rhythm bead moves past each bar, it would cause an excellent mark per move.

+ TIME HACK

The Magic Room

This is another hack seen in the under belly of Audition Philippines. It is normally used by charlatans who want to top the game rankings through the Story Mode. Botters use this hack so that they could repeat episodes in their story mode, hence acquiring the reward experience points over and over. It also shortens the duration of songs to about 30 seconds of ABM files, allowing them to garner a larger amount of experience points in a lesser amount of time.

HOW TO DETECT

• Characters (mostly in deserted or unpopulated channels) playing solo that finishes a game in less than a minute.

Ø  Story Mode rooms are invisible (cannot be seen by people in the lobby) and lasts until the song is done (the shortest song available in Audition PH is not less than 2 minutes).

Ø  If it is a Normal game, neither EXP nor DEN can be amassed when playing solo.

Ø  Only REPLAY games can be cut short and those are invisible (cannot be seen by people in the lobby).

+ CHAT HACK

This hack’s function is to disable the word filtering feature of the game. And because there are numerous defamatory words that made the cut, some no-good people edited their game files just so they’d be able to curse other gamers just for the heck of it. But of course there is a penalty for bad mouths and abusers. =) So if you see anyone who cusses without hesitation, please report them. Let us not eradicate the need to make our online gaming community a better avenue for interaction by practicing civility.

PENALTY FOR BADMOUTH

1st penalty – deduction of 1000exp
2nd penalty – deduction of 1500exp
3rd penalty – deduction of 2000exp
+ BEAT UP HACK

This kind of hack enables score and combo hack, but is applicable for Beat Up mode only. Normally, a single key is equivalent to a single combo. But with this hack, a single hit could correspond to a combo ranging from 13 up to 70 hits. Also, when enabled, the score of the botter would increase dramatically as if some sort of sick magic.

HOW TO DETECT

• When a player magically accumulates a whopping amount of score points and combo out of the blue.

+ CHANCE HACK

The chance function provides skilled gamers with the advantage to accrue more score points by turning each arrow into its opposite direction. The new feature of Audition PH allows us to choose from C1 to C6, depending on a player’s capabilities. Though there really are those who are capable of playing with a full chance throughout the game, be wary that some players may just be using chance hack.

It may appear that a gamer uses a 6 key chance mode; but when chance hack is enabled, it turns the (red) 1 to (red) 9, the (red) 2 to (red) 8, the (red) 3 to (red) 7 and so on and so forth. Technically, it defeats the purpose of the chance mode to reverse the keys, but adorns it as a decorative semblance of skilled gaming with the same score benefits.

HOW TO DETECT

Sadly, though efforts from Game Masters are being done to prohibit such cheating exertions, you won’t be able to know that your opponent is using chance hack unless you see him using it.

+ 2KEYS HACK

A hack program for those who are nuts to win but doesn’t possess even an average skill in playing. It turns any move, whether finger tangling or not, into two keys such as L R L R or U D U D. The magic of this is they get the same score as other players with less effort. The score won’t depreciate albeit complex moves have been altered into crude ones.

HOW TO DETECT

Like the chance hack, there is no way of knowing if someone uses the 2KEY hack unless observed in actuality.
NOTES:

1)      CHAINERS AREN’T ALWAYS BOTTERS.

I hope people can be really mature about this. Not because a low level performs a x12 chain or more means that he or she is already a bot. Come on, where is justice in that? Let us not condemn those who are skilled and let’s accept the fact that some people’s fingers are way better than ours. So quit accusing. If you don’t have any substantial evidence, don’t point fingers.

2)      PLAYERS WHO SUFFER FROM LAG AREN’T ALWAYS BOTTERS.

Let us rest with the fact that for some instance, it’s somehow easier to chain when it’s lagging. Though one hint in cracking a bot user is through the mix of chain and lag, we shouldn’t apply this notion to all. Lag due to connection can be observed when the motion of the player is irregular. It’s like a stop dance that a player suddenly stops then dances afterwards in continuous moves as if in a hurry or a move is encroached by another. There is also another case when a player’s steps are ahead or behind others but still dances until the end of the song. These are examples of normal lags experienced by players and should not be mistaken as causes of bot programs.
